There are a few ‘must do’ activities during your time in Chicago that no traveler should miss.
- Shopping: Downtown Chicago is famous for the Magnificent Mile shopping, as well as the State Street experience. Considered “One of the greatest avenues in the World”, the Magnificent Mile truly has something for everyone. Not only is this avenue filled with shopping for all types, it also frequently showcases art throughout the year. Chicago isn’t afraid to try new things, and because of that this city is home to some of the finest restaurants.
- Attractions: Have you seen the movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”? If not, then this flick will definitely help you start generating ideas on what are the ‘must do’ activities in the city. Travelers can start their morning off with a jog along Lake Michigan, and then head to the many museums. From there, you can take the elevator up to the top of the John Hancock Building or the Willis (Sears) Tower to view the infamous Chicago Skyline. You can then head over to the Navy Pier for more fun and excitement with the kids or a loved one. There isn’t a moment to waste in downtown Chicago, so take advantage of everything this city has to offer.
Spring break runs through March and April and now is a great time to search for the perfect hotel. Try to find a hotel with a swimming pool, and other value added amenities such as complimentary breakfast and internet. If you plan to spend a few days instead of just a weekend, try looking into an all-suite hotel to give you extra room.
