Located on the IBM Building
June 11, 2010 will be a day to remember for Chicago, as we welcome the Blackhawks home officially with a massive parade. The picture above displays the blackhawks flag, hanging on the IBM building right off the Chicago riverfront. The estimated number of people present at the parade was 2 million, which is much larger than expected. Fans have waited 43 years for a championship from the Chicago team, and couldn’t be happier for them. The Homewood Suites by Hilton Chicago downtown would like to officially thank the team for all their hard work!
Guests coming in over the weekend have a chance to take part in a local event favorite, the Andersonville Midsommarfest. Taking place on June 12 & 13, the fest features local food and multiple stages of live entertainment, perfect for families.
Also taking place is Chicago’s famous Blues Festival. The Chicago Blues Festival remains the largest free Blues fest in the world, totalling to over 600,000 fans in attendence. Coupled with great food and live music, this fest is one you don’t want to miss!
